BBQ Body Slam?
"There are two things that are synonymous with Memphis, Tennessee — barbecue and wrestling. And I've already done the wrestling." Professional wrestling great Jerry Lawler is opening a barbecue restaurant in Memphis.
'Cue for a Cause
We're big fans of community fundraising barbecues, which is a great way to enjoy delicious barbecue while helping out a good cause, too. In York County, South Carolina (which is just across the state line from Charlotte), the Lesslie Volunteer Fire Department has been staging their annual barbecue for 59 years now. If you're in that area this weekend, drive by and pick up a plate. (They're making 3,000 pounds this year!)
Rodney Almost Ready
And, finally, for those in the Holy City who have been waiting on pins and needles, Rodney Scott's Barbecue is almost ready to bring burn barrel-style whole hog barbecue to downtown Charleston, South Carolina.
@porknwhiskey yes we are testing and training. We are coming real soon!!!
