Hogs for the Cause just announced that they are working with the Children's Hospital of New Orleans to build on-campus housing for children and their families as they undergo treatment. The capital campaign is planned to generate a $2 million investment in the facility to be known as the House that Hogs Built, to open in 2017.

The multi-million dollar expansion will include 14 family suites with private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, and mini refrigerators along with common areas with two family lounges, kitchen spaces, and a laundry room.

Hogs for the Cause is a non-profit organization based in New Orleans that raises money for the families of children fighting pediatric brain cancer. Its premier event is its annual fundraising music festival and barbecue competition, which is held in New Orleans each spring. Last year 90 teams competed in the Ben Sarrat, Jr. Cook Off to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital and to vie for the coveted High on the Hog Grand Champion title.
